Salt Spring Island

With about 11,000 permanent residences and an area of 185 sqkm (72 sqmi) Salt Spring Island is by far the largest of the Canadian Gulf Islands.

Located between Vancouver and Victoria, the Island is served by three ferry routes and regional float plane service from Vancouver and Victoria. Salt Spring Island and the Gulf Islands of Brithish Columbia are truly paddling heaven.

Besides kayaking along its extensive coastline, paddling to numerous coves and outlying islands, Salt Spring Island lends itself to being explored from the land as well.

The main center is bustling Ganges, an attractive seaside town which boasts marinas, boutiques, galleries, pubs, many fine restaurants, shops, a post office, super market, liquor store and everything else you might need.
